The Monroeville Municipal Authority (MMA) is rehabilitating 35,000 linear feet of structurally deficient sanitary sewer in the Garden City sewer shed. The trenchless lining rehabilitation of these sanitary sewers will repair existing structural defects and reduce the amount of groundwater infiltration into the MMA sewage collection system. It will also reduce or eliminate the number of sanitary sewer overflow events on Woodhaven Drive by eliminating downstream surcharging and creating more downstream capacity in the sanitary sewer line. The MMA recently received grant awards totaling $1.5 million from ALCOSAN and the PA Department of Community and Economic Development to fully fund this project. Customers may observe MMA inspectors and contractors accessing rear yard sanitary manholes. Customers will be provided 24-hr notice prior to temporary sanitary service disruption. Minimal traffic delays are expected and at no time will residential entry be required. The project is planned to continue thru December 2021.
