Switching to Chlorination, Mid-July, 2017

In accordance with the PADEP permit number 6513521 dated May 2016, the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County (MAWC) is notifying the Monroeville Municipal Authority (MMA) that MAWC will be switching the disinfectant residual being supplied to the Authority to chlorine beginning mid-July, 2017. MAWC is required to provide 90 days' notice to the MMA prior to switching to chlorination. MAWC has notified the MMA that MAWC will change the disinfectant residual back to a chloramine beginning on August 30, 2017.
